For 20 years illustrated architecture has been working on the 3D digitisation of buildings for the preservation of historical monuments. In particular, the procedure for recording baroque state rooms plays a major role. Images are taken from aerial surveys with drones and terrestrial photogrammetry and laser scanning.

The resulting images were visualised with the Point Cloud Technology platform called 3D PointHub. This is used, for example, in the planning of construction measures and restoration measures and in comparing the condition of monuments before and after those measures.

With the help of Point Cloud Technology’s web platform, we were able to transfer the calculated 3D point clouds and make them available to all project participants. By having data from different points in time, we can create a 4D model of the structures that can be analysed for changes.”
